Lash Course FAQ

No. Our classic lash extension courses are made for complete beginners, and most of our students have never lashed before.

The only prerequisite we have is for volume lashes: you’ll need to complete a classic course first, or already hold a classic lash extension certificate. You can buy classic and volume together to save money.

Lashing is a skill, so it takes practice, but it’s very learnable. We break everything down step by step, from isolating a natural lash to applying a full set.

You’ll learn with easy-to-read manuals, and our classic, volume and lash lift courses also include video tutorials. In-person students get 1:1 time with an instructor and practise on both a mannequin and a live model. Most students find their speed and confidence grow quickly after their first few sets.

This is the most common worry we hear, and it’s exactly why we offer unlimited revisions on your certification work. If something isn’t quite right, we’ll tell you what to fix and you can try again as many times as you need.

In-person students also get a free refresher class. After your class, mentoring and support are available online, so you’re never on your own. You can reach us by phone, email, SMS, social media or live chat whenever you’re stuck.

In-person suits you if you learn best by doing. You’ll train hands-on at our Chadstone studio with 1:1 instructor time and real-time feedback.

Online suits you if you need flexibility or don’t live in Melbourne. You learn at home at your own pace, with full support from our team.

Started online and want hands-on help later? You can add an in-person class at any time for an additional $500 per class.

Yes. Our online courses are available Australia-wide, and every course ships free. In-person training is held only at our Chadstone studio in Melbourne.

Just a model. Everything else is provided, including your lash kit, which you’ll receive on the day.

Need us to find a model for you? Email hello@lashbossmelb.com at least 3 days before your class and we’ll arrange one.

Class dates aren’t listed online. After you enrol, we’ll email you the available dates along with a detailed itinerary covering parking, what time your model should arrive and more.

Your in-person enrolment never expires, so you can pick a date that suits you.

Our studio is at Waterman Chadstone, inside Chadstone Shopping Centre. There’s free all-day parking.

Yes. Once you’ve paid, email us your order number and we’ll give you early access to our online learning materials, so you can walk into class already knowing the basics.

Yes, for our classic, volume and lash lift online courses. These come alongside easy-to-read manuals and your Student Drive, which is full of guides and resources.

Our Korean Lash Lift Online Course is manual-based learning only, without video tutorials.

Us! Online students can reach our team by phone, email, SMS, social media or website live chat. Ask as many questions as you like; there’s no such thing as a silly one.

Our lash extension kits are large, with enough product for at least 20 clients. That means you can start taking paying clients without spending more on stock straight away.

You’ll complete and submit 2–4 lash sets per certificate. We review your work and give you feedback, with unlimited revisions, until it’s ready. Once your work is approved, you’ll receive your Certificate of Completion.

As soon as your certification work is approved and you have your certificate. How long that takes is up to you: some students submit quickly, others take their time to practise first.

Before you start charging, it’s a good idea to take out beauty insurance. Insurers will usually ask to see your certificate.

Safety is a big part of our training. You’ll learn lash adhesive safety, how to run a proper client consultation, and how to recognise and handle reactions and allergies, so you know what to do before it ever happens.

Yes. Many of our graduates start lashing from home, while others go on to work in a salon or open their own. Our training prepares you for either path.

It depends on what you charge and how many clients you see, but here’s an example to show how the maths works:

• Part-time: 5 full sets a week at $120 ≈ $600 a week
• Full-time: 15 full sets a week at $120 ≈ $1,800 a week

Most new lash artists start part-time and build up as clients rebook. As your skills, speed and prices grow, so does your income.

These figures are examples only, before expenses and tax. Your earnings will depend on your pricing, location, hours and how consistently you promote your business.

Yes. Our classic and volume courses include a module on how to gain clientele, plus a lash extension business guide and marketing plan.

Yes. You can pay in full or secure your spot with a deposit. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due within 3 months (or on the day of your training for in-person courses).
